Y-Adapter
The Sherman + Reilly “Y” adapter coupled to a Cablejet or Superjet is used for placing a second cable or microducts in a duct that already has one existing cable (subject to available space). Achievable distances are 1500 to 3000 feet on average, depending on cable to duct ratios and other parameters. One branch of the “Y” adapter is attached to the Cablejet or Superjet and is used to place the additional cable. The other branch is used to seal off and hold the first cable. The adapter uses the same inserts that are used with the Cablejet or Superjet systems. The “Y” adapter has also been used to install two cables or multiple microducts simultaneously in one innerduct. This operation requires two Cablejets or two Superjets.
