Our Story

LineStar Utility Supply was established in 2005 in Surrey, B.C. by Bill Finley and Mike Armstrong. Mr. Finley and Mr. Armstrong owned the renowned Turmac Utility Supply Corporation, which functioned as a key supplier of Tools, Equipment and Pole Line Hardware in Western Canada for twelve years.

LineStar Utility Supply sought to improve on the business model created at Turmac; LineStar’s model is to provide specialty tools and safety equipment for the power utility industry. Employees of the utility industry encouraged LineStar to become a dedicated tool and equipment supplier operated by personnel with years of industry experience. This communication with hardworking men and women in the industry has distinguished LineStar from other Canadian distributors.

As the Surrey, BC office provided service and tools that surpassed client expectations, more LineStar offices were needed to meet the growing demand. The Calgary, AB LineStar office and showroom provides local service to clients under the direction of Brian L’Heureux. Brian’s previous experience in the utility industry has given him indispensable knowledge of products provided at LineStar.

LineStar’s expansion continued into the prairies with an office in Winnipeg that changed locations in 2014 to provide clients with a larger inventory. In 2015, it was evident that linemen across Canada required the outstanding service of LineStar Utility Supply and an office was opened in Mississauga, ON.

LineStar’s ownership group currently possesses more than seventy-one (71) combined years of experience supplying product and expertise to the power utility industry. The long-standing experience and dedication of the company employees is unprecedented in the industry. Business with LineStar comes with an inherent guarantee of satisfaction by providing extensive product knowledge, niche product availability and exemplary customer service.
